The Mary Matha Shrine at Ross Hill gratefully marks the 31st Rosary Chain Prayer in this October 2025, under the blessing of Most Rev. Dr. Udumala Bala, Archbishop of Visakhapatnam. For over three decades, this continuous devotion has been a source of hope, healing and spiritual strength for countless souls. You are warmly invited to join this Rosary prayer campaign being in your own places, uniting your heart and mind in this Christ-centered devotion to the Holy Rosary.

Throughout history, the Church has witnessed the profound intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 1917, amid global turmoil, she appeared in Fatima, Portugal calling for the daily prayer of the Holy Rosary to bring peace and end war. A call that remains vital even today. Similarly, the victory at the Battle of Lepanto on 7th October 1571, credited to the Holy Rosary, led to the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. As Jesus taught through the parable of the “Fig Tree” (Mt 24:32–33), we too are called to discern the signs of our times.

In February 2022, Russia’s attack on Ukraine initiated an ongoing conflict. Later, on 7th October 2023, the Hamas attack on Israel occurring on the Feast of the Holy Rosary triggered another war. This new conflict intensified tensions in Gaza, the Middle East and Europe leading to migration and unrest around the globe. At the same time, cyber crime, misuse of the internet and AI, drug abuse and broken families continue to rise, along with declining moral values. Climate change, poverty, and unemployment also threaten humanity worldwide. In this hour of turmoil, let us turn to Our Lady, seeking her powerful intercession for healing, unity and lasting peace.

Saint John Paul II reminded us “There is no peace without forgiveness”. The Holy Rosary helps us to attain this gift of forgiveness through prayer and reflection. It is a Chain of Grace, a spiritual weapon that binds evil and brings freedom to families, the Church and the world. Scripture affirms this victory “The angel….holding in his hand a great chain seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil or Satan, and bound him” (Rev 20:1-2). Through the Rosary, we share in this triumph, drawing strength and peace from heaven.

Echoing the Psalmist, we declare: “My help comes from the Lord” (Psalm 121). As children of the living God, we are called to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and pray Holy Rosary day and night to face all the challenges. Let us be connected in the incessant Chain Rosary, trusting in Christ’s promise of justice and mercy for all who call on Him day and night (Luke 18:7).

We warmly invite you to join the Rosary Chain Prayer 2025 by choosing a daily time, day or night and praying the Rosary each day in October. Through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary let us unite in faith, offering our personal and common intentions. May the forgiving love of Christ bring peace and healing to our families, the Church and the whole world.

In this Jubilee Year, looking to and trusting in the positive sign of the Holy Cross, the Church walk as Pilgrims of Hope, following the vision of Pope Francis and renewed by Pope Leo XIV. May the Spirit of Christ help us to pray the Holy Rosary with faith by discerning the signs of our time.
